What are the 4 must have flies in fly fishing for trout?

im a beginer fly fisherman and i love all kinds of fishing. i think i know the 4 top patterns for each type of flys ( dry flies, wet flys, nymphs, and streamers) but i would like to know what other people think. please send links and please i would like to see alot of personal favorite patterns.

I'm from Montana and tied professionally a million years ago when I was in high school. My pick Royal Wulff, Royal Humpy, Elk Hair Caddis, and any hopper pattern for dry flies. For wets, all you really need is an Emergent Sparkle Pupa. Nymphs: Hare's Ear, Prince, Pheasant Tail, and all three in bead head (I get extras here because I was short on the wets). Streamers: Wooly Bugger, Muddler Minnow, Muddler Marabou White and Black.

The most fun I've had is dragging a Yellow Marabou Muddler across the top of really high muddy water. The browns would come right of the bottom and smash it like you've never seen. Some would come two feet out of the water after it.

Czech Nymphing - The Essential Fly Fishing Technique

Czech Nymphing was introduced in the United Kingdom in the 1990 World Championships. The Republic Czech team beat the United Kingdom's international teams in the Welsh River Dee. The Czechs caught grayling in the number of sites thought to be impossible fast or deep before. This sent shockwaves through the world of competitive fishing. The technique is now considered almost a standard - an essential part of all fishermen grayling arsenal.

how to start fly fishing?

I want to start fly fishing but do not know how. What is all the gear I will need to start. Is there any where I can take lessons in SE PA or any other ways I can learn. Also wear should I go fishing?

Big question, hope I can help.

1) I would get a good book - "Fly Fishing, Learn from a Master by Bill Mason is an excellent book to get you started. It will explain all the gear, casting, flies, knots,
how fish feed, how to read water, and much more.

2) In SE PA I would advise that your fisrt rod be
a 8' 5wt, moderate / moderate fast action. St Croix and Reddington both make decent rods for under $100
You can get a decent flyreel (Cabela'a Prestige Plus,
Pflueger Trion, for example for under $100)
Flyline: I would advise Scientific Anglers Mastery Headstart ($ 44) in weight forward - this is a good beginning flyline with more weight up front so you get a better feel of the rod loading.

(off of Hatchery Road in Emmaus).The fellows who run it may be able to give you some good advice.

Cabela's in Hamburg and Nestor's in Quakertown
are 2 places worth visiting, most employees in the fly area are fly fishermen and will take time to help you
in selecting your gear, and answering your questions - classes may even be available.

Some good streams in the area include the Little Lehigh in the Allentown area, Tulpahocken in the Reading Area, Falling Springs near Chambersburg.

Good Luck to you, and may I say, that most fly fishermen that I have run across over the course of many years are always willing to help a new fellow out.

Preparing for Crappie Fly Fishing

Before you can play a fly fishing crappie trip, you need to have the proper supplies. If you don't already know how to fly fish or have a fly fishing rod, you're going to want to take some time to try to learn this first. Get some lessons, practice on your lawn or whatever you need to do to get in the groove before heading out on a crappie fishing trip. Once you feel confident enough to try fishing in the real waters, you need to pack your tackle and supplies. You also need to learn about the area you are fishing at. Here are some ways to prepare.

So how can you get ready for a crappie fly fishing trip? Just like any other crappie fishing trip, you need to prepare by learning as much as possible about where you will be going and the weather and more. You can get fishing reports of the lake or body of water you are fishing in if possible to help you prepare. If you've been to the body of water before it will help you plan for the best spots to try some fishing. Crappie fly fishing is different from deep water crappie fishing so you need to try to go at a time and season when the crappie will be fishing essentials to the list but this is a great place to start.
Crappie fly fishing is probably most easily done in the spring when the crappie are spawning and easily biting and when you can wade in the water at comfortable temperatures for you.

Techniques for Crappie Fly Fishing

If you're going fly fishing for crappie, you need to know the proper techniques to help you reel them in every time. The unique thing about a fly rod is that it allows you more opportunity to gently place the bait where you want it so that it does not upset or startle the fish.

Fly Fishing Flies

Fly fishing is a challenging and fun activity for many fly fishermen. The challenge is to catch different species of fish. Yet, even catching a fish in fly fishing is already a challenge because it is never easy to master fly fishing. Fly fishing success has many factors. One factor the right choice of lures of fly fishing flies. These are used to imitate insects to lure fish and catch them eventually. The lures or flies may either be surface lures of below the surface lures. Common lures are the surface lures and these types of lures can catch big fishes such as the bass.

Bass fly fishing are now being done in fly fishing tournaments. The challenge is to catch many bass or to catch a bass fast. Most fly fishermen practice hard to master the perfect casting in order to create some commotion that will imitate surface animals to attract the bass. Catching bass in fly fishing is a challenge especially on strong fights on the water (bass are big and they put up a fight when they are catched). Bass are keen in waiting to pounce on their prey just as fly fishermen are keen on waiting for their fish.

The bass are easily attracted to surface flies especially if has distinct color. Most fly fishermen make their own lures when they want to catch bass. Bass fly fishing is dependent on the type of lure being used. The key to bass fly fishing success is on attracting the bass to the lures. This can be done by using dark colors such as brown, black or purple when it the horizon is dimming. Bass fly fishing is usually done when the sun begins to set because this is the time when they start to look for food because surface insects are available. Bass lures or flies can also be made using lighter colors because bass will pounce on any insect. There are insect that have light colors and making a bright colored lure or flies will surely attract the bass. Bass are after big insects but there are occasions that they are up for smaller insects which makes small flies feasible for catching bass.

Aside from the color of the flies, the movement is also a strategy to master when wanting to catch a bass. Each fly fisherman has their techniques in moving their bass bugs. They may cast it on the water without making it move on the surface for a few minutes then give it a slight twitch or movement to make bass think that it is a live insect. Bass are just waiting to pounce on their prey and it can be fun to lure them into some non-living flies and catch them easily. Bass fly fishing might seem easy but it is much more complicated when being studied.
