It's 8pm in the UK and starting to get dark, when does it get dark where you are?

I've heard that it gets dark earlier the closer you get to the Tropics and later the closer you get to the poles. Just trying to see how true that is?

Plus, can you remember when it gets dark on the summer solstice - June 21st? In the Uk that's around 10pm
