Improving Swimming Times?
Okay, ever since Varsity ended and we tapered my times have all gone back up.
My Varsity 100yd. fly time Was a 1:10 but now I keep getting 1:13 after we tapered. It Tapering just an old thing they still do, because at Sectionals I did worse after we tapered.
I have a meet tomorrow and I have gone to every practice, we don't have it on Thursday though.
If I still get a bad time should I practice extra to get where I was month ago?
Taper only works if you train your balls off up until it. Tapering is used to give your body time to recover from your previous hard training and to build up speed. It sounds like your not trying hard enough during regular training to use the taper period properly.
