Since AB=AC, ∆ABC is an isosceles triangle and ‹ABC=‹ACB.

The sum of all the angles in a triangle add up to 180, so

180 = ‹A + ‹ABC + ‹ACB = 78 + 2‹ABC
‹ABC = ‹ACB = (180-78)/2 = 51°

(You didn't say which angle was x, but they're all easy to find.)

CX bisects ‹ACB, so the measure of ‹ACX = ‹BCX and they are is half the measure of ‹ACB

‹ACX = ‹BCX = ½‹ACB = ½(51°) = 25.5°

‹BXC = 180 - ‹ABC - ‹BCX
= 180 - 78 - 25.5
= 76.5°

Now look at ∆BCX. You know the measure of all angles and the length of one side, so you can use the Law of Sines to determine the length of BX.

BX / sin ‹BCX = BC / sin ‹BXC

BX = 10(sin 25.5) / (sin 76.5)
= 4.4 cm
