How important is the visibility of the fishing line to catching fish?
The line manufacturers make a big deal of this in their ads. Does it REALLY matter? Are fish smart enough to avoid a bait just because they see the line?
when fishing on the bottom, plastic worms and the like, or bait, visibility is not going to matter. there are so many bits of grass and sticks, the fish will not be able to tell the difference between a bit of grass that thing there might be crawling over and bit of line. the line would be camouflaged by the bottom, anyway.
most of my bass fishing is done at lake casitas, a 2000 acre reservoir in so cal, one of the most heavily pressured lakes in the world. especially for bass.
l regularly pull bass up to 10lb from this lake using maxima ultragreen in 8lb test.
it is also fished regularly by the Queen of Bass Anglers ...Bass Fishing B I T _ _.
(l don't think she catches as many as l do, though)

what?... you can't catch anything off the bank?
