What makes some novels classic literature?
I find that most include themes regarding humanity and society, human weaknesses, and are mostly about conflicts between different social classes. Examples of classics that fit this description are 1984, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, July's People, etc.
What do classic books have in common?
Classic usually means something timeless, that the themes discussed are still relevant, even though written long ago. For example Jane Austen books are considered classics. Even though written over 200 years ago, her themes of human nature and relationships are still enjoyable today.
